Default 2011 5.0 needing new engine

2 weeks ago purchased 2011 GTCS convert. with 17000 miles. Purchased car from dealer about two hours from home and purchased and check engine light was on. Thought no big deal and dealer did not think big deal just take to local dealer to get checked and reset. After having random misfire and the tick by the passenger wheel well it sounds a new engine is being put in. Seriously this is my first ford since my 2005 f350 6.0. Just asking if any problems by dropping in new motor?

First problem was taking ownership of a car with a check engine light on.. it didnt come off the truck like that so someone at the dealership must have done something ... dont buy a new car that needs an engine... take it back and demand a new one.. you have 3 days to return it by law.. clocks ticking

New engine should be fine, the previous owner probably modded it, got the cyl #8 issue so he de modified it and cleared the check engine light to sell it.

I'm pretty disappointed with the new 5.0, when bolt-ons will blow it up and the dealerships wont fix it for free.

You should be fine, i'm sure they offered a warranty and you didn't mod it so you should be covered. Let us know if they try to charge you for the new engine.

It is still under factory warranty. The first owner should not have moded as it was an exec car?

what is an exec car?

google comes up with a rental car service called executive car and a british term meaning a large or oversized car.

Yeah man my 5.0 has been good but since it came like that the seller should cover everything and you should just drop it off and pick it up lol

Take the new motor and run with it.

Read my "warranty work already" thread Hope you don't go through what I did.
