Default Rollin, In my 5.0......

LOL. I love that line!

We now have (2) 5.0s in my little neighborhood.

My 2011 Race Red F150 XLT 4x4 5.0 that I've had for a year now and my neighbor just purchased a 2013 Race Red 5.0 M6 GT.

Let me tell ya guys, I envy you all! This was the first 5.0 Mustang that I had driven and it blew me away how good these things run!

In gears 1-5 if you "blip" the throttle it's ready to go!

I'm really glad that Ford has finally given us a bad a$$ engine for a bad a$$ car.

It can dust anything on the road, except for it's big brother Shelby, of course, and still get 25+ MPG on the road.

Big Blue Oval comes through again.

I really shouldn't have driven the car though. It's given me the "itch". If the next gen Mustang looks as good as it runs, I may have myself another car payment.

Haha I think it's a good move. Should show how far Ford has gone in the past 10 years. I'm still surprised at how much they've improved the Pony car in my '11 but it still keeps a lot of the character from Mustangs past.

I test drove everything from BMW to Nissan before I tried the mustang. There really isnt another car on the road like it for the money. I went from a truck to the pony and it's different not being able to tow anymore. But worth it everyday when i hit that throttle

How does the 5.0 run in the truck? I have been really curious and even thought about test driving one.

It runs really good. It's de-tuned to 360HP, but eat up with torque.

My dad has a 2010 F150 with the 5.4 and my truck will dust his.

I can get anywhere from 18-20 MPG on the highway.

I only have 12K miles on it but haven't had any issues other than some oil comsumption.

Ditto. I fell in love with the stang when i drove it, and honestly i never really cared for them before the new generation.

Yeah the 5.0 in the F150 is incredibly underrated by Ford, mostly because they want to keep sales of the Ecoboost engine high. The truck 5.0 has dyno'd numbers nearing those of the 6.2L V8 in the F150. It is also better for towing than the ecoboost since the V6 is in boost the entire time and just gulping fuel. My tuned 5.4L, while having loads of low-end torque, is a joke compared to the new engines.

Finally? I've owned 3 mustangs in my short 25 year old life, and every one of them had a bad a$$ engine (71 302, 2002 4.6, 2005 4.6). They were all revolutionary for their day and age. 05 GT got u over 300 hp was a jaw dropper for the price; just like the 11 and up gets u 400... CHEERS

I agree with the OP on Ford "finally" providing a bas a$$ engine. There was nothing revolutionary about a pushrod 302, nothing revolutionary about the 4.6 (especially when GM had the LSx engines at the same time that had 300+ factory hp that you throw a cam in and you get more power than if you force fed a 4.6.). The 3V 4.6 wasn't either. Ford has finally caught up with everyone else and provided an engine that can keep up with the competition, literally.

What he said ^^^ I probably would not have bought my GT if it still had the 4.6. I would've gone the GM route and bought a Camaro SS.
