What he said. I bounce between K&N, Mobil-1, and Motorcraft. Looking into WIX as they are supposed to be good as well. The main thing is to keep up the maintenance & use decent quality parts.

Wix. If it's good enough for NASCAR it's good enough for me.

Oil filter quality becomes important when you are using synthetic oil and change it at 7K to 10K. Top of the line Fram filters are just as good any, just don't use their cheapo filters for the synthetic.

I have a question hopefully someone on here can help me with.i have an 02 gt and the girl i bought it from ran conventional oil. It has 76000 miles and am leary about switching to syntheic or synthetic blend. My problem is, is that i purchased the k&n performance gold oil filter not realizing it was specified for synthetic oils, can i run conventional oil through this filter? or is the flow rate on this filter to high for conventional oil?

I have question hopefully somebody can help me with. I have a 2002 gt and its running conventional oil. I bought the k&n performance gold oil filter not realizing it was specified for synthetic or synthetic blends. My question is can you use this filter with conventional oil? And is the "high flow" rate on this filter going to burn conventional oil faster than a synthetic?

Any filter will work on Syn, Syn blend or dino oil. The premium filters like K&N, Amsoil, Royal Purple etc will go longer between changes, that is they will catch and hold more dirt.

I use Motorcraft or Mobil-1. It usually depends what is on sale out of the 2. I think these are the 2 best brands out there, based on my research.

EDIT: 2 best brands FOR THE PRICE, lol.

The dealership where I purchased my car, changes the oil & filter free. So it's Motorcraft filters & semi-synthetic oil for my mustang.

There's no way in hell your research came up with those two.
