Read up - many people end up selling the Boss intake and going back to the stocker. Unless you're revving the pee pee out of it, you're not going to get much benefit.

Meh, considering the amount of money people spend on other appearance mods the look of the manifold under the hood is worth 500. That's subjective though.

Sounds like you already made up your mind but I'd look into some springs. You notice them a lot, I haven't tried them but a few others in the Carolina group have had Hotchkis springs and no problems with them.
