any updates on the 5.0 ignitor tick

Default any updates on the 5.0 ignitor tick

my '11 gt has 16k miles i bought it with 11k miles and i guess i didnt notice the tick til after the first time i changed the oil somewhere between 11-12k miles with mobile1 5w20, i was thinking the next oil change goin to mobile1 5w30 any one have any luck with thicker oil?

If you have a tick after oil change I bet you didn't use a Motorcraft filter, if that's the case it's not the oil its the filter!!

I used a Fram ultra guard I think or tough guard one of the more expensive ones, I'll try a motorcraft filter next time, but how would the filter cause that?

Just changed my oil for the second time at 10K and the tick came back. I used mobil 1 5w20 with a MOTORCRAFT filter and still have the tick. I remember getting it after my first oil change at 5500mi (mobil 1 5w20 & MC filter) and it went away within a few hundred miles, but this time around it seems to be worse.

Whats everyones thoughts about switching to 5w30? I read on another forum that one guy said there was a big difference in valvetrain noise and he said the car felt better with 5w30

I'm due for an oil change next week I'm gonna use mobile1 5w30 and a motorcraft filter and I'll report my results.

No problems here, Motorcraft 5w-20 synthetic blend and K&N filter.

There are two TSB's out for engine noise, might wanna look them up and see if the noises might be what you are hearing.

Yeah I coulda swore thosw TSB's for for the earlier 11's. Any TSB's for the 2012's?
