How to get to 500 hp at the crank
#51
500 crank hp is about 425 rwhp,
ive seen ppl hit 412 rwhp with dyno tune , intake, catback
I think with headers full exhaust, custom dyno tune, intake and you will be damn close to 500 crank hp
Full stainless works exhaust removes 41 lbs from the car.
your car will also be lighter and better front to rear weight distribution than a gt500
Then you can throw a SC on it gain like 200 more hp -700 crank 600+ rwhp
to be honest though, 400 rwhp is fast enough for the street

My friend's 5.0 makes 445 at the wheels. I am sure that translates to 500 horses. He has the Boss Manifold, intake, tune, bbk headers, xpipe, roush exhaust, trottle bodie and I think that's about it as far as I am concern. Given that a stock 2011 5.0 with track pack and gears runs 12.7 at the quarter mile I am sure with 500 ponies and better tires the car is capable of beating a stock GT500, the first model. I am not sure what the weight difference is but I am sure the 5.0 is a few hundred pounds lighter. I remember reading that the first GT500s were running high 12s.

You will benefit from a CAI and TB if you switch to the CJ manifold. The larger scj mono blade for cj manifold and 4.5" to 5" cai have been tested and provin to make good power.
