Default Automatic Shift RPM's?

I see most tuners set the shift RPM's on an auto at 7K some as high as 7500. Yet looking at dyno's it seems the engine starts losing power around 6500. Has anyone tried different shift points and had better results with the rpm set at 6800 or found better at 7K plus?

The FRPP tune shifts at about 6800 RPM. Probably the only way to see what is best is at a dragstrip and looking at the 1/4 ET. Then, your differential gearing, and what gear you can go through the trap, is probably a big factor in deciding at what RPM to shift.
