Question about air filters
I know, I know, I should just get a CAI + tune, but is anyone using the k&n drop in? I've seen the stories of MAF fouling due to the oil, which is probably due to over oiling. I'm also wondering about the filtration quality. An info or experiences would be appreciated.

With that said, I've only trusted AFE for my intake system for the last 5+ years, and I've never looked back. I have an AFE intake on my 5.0, and I absolutely love it, but with a panel filter, you'll get the benefit of increased power, without the drawbacks of having to clean out your MAF all the time for over oiling out of the box. They also make a dry version (grey), just in case you don't want to deal with oil at all:
aFe Power MagnumFLOW Direct Inverted Replacement Filter
Hope that helps! Message me if you have any questions

There's no discernible gain from a drop-in and IMO (from old folklore perhpas but still hard to shake) is that the K&N doesn't filter as well as a paper filter.
Oil contamination is due to over oiling, yes. It takes a bit to get it right. I was using an Amsoil drop-in years ago on an old SUV and was always having MAF issues.
