Looking for recommendations for MT-82 Transmission Fluid
Any advice for replacing the MT82 transmission fluid. I have read posts about people making a change and experience worse results than stock, obivously thats not wanted.
What have yall have good experience with?
I am planning on placing and order for a bottle of the XL-18 Transmission additive (friction modifier)!! I'm excited to test this!

You will get mixed opinions on here, ranging from stock Motorcraft fluids to Amsoil MTL synchromesh. I would suggest the Amsoil MTL plainly cause everyone rants and raves about it. But really the MT82 is not a perfect transmission, usually adding stuff never makes anything perfect it just blends everything. I HAVEN'T heard of any horror stories of people changing over to different fluids, just that they would have figured it would have fixed it but only marginally dampened things in the tranny.

Redline MTL or Amsoil 75W-90. Here is a link to an older thread with some info:

Why would you put friction modifier in the transmission? I thought that was only for the rear limited slip diff.

The XL-18 was developed for the transmission. There is another product used specifically for the rear diff. I'm not sure it's part number. Thus far, I have read several great reviews that the XL-18 vastly improves smoothness in gear changes. I'm anticipating this along with the MGW= perfection!
