Default 1st to 4th gear option - 2012 GT

This particular year has this option to go from first to forth as a gas savor option. Don't like it! At times it engages the option when you least expect it. Can you disable it????

Yes you can. You can disconnect the solenoid at the transmission, it won't function but you will still see the dash display. Second option is via a custom tune the feature can be turned off and then you also never see the dash display.

Search "Skip Shift" etc for details....good luck.

Wait, skip-shift locks you out of 2nd AND 3rd? I thought it forced you to 3rd, not 4th. That's crazy, but that's with the 6 speed though, so maybe it's not quite as bad. I can't imagine shifting from 1st to 4th. 1st to 3rd bogs enough.

The other option is to launch hard every time you take off from a stop. It only comes on when you take off slow.

hmmmm I guess mine is disabled. I see it pop up on the dash but I have never had any issues going into any other gear. I bought the car used with 2900miles on it

You can also drive around it by just revving up in first gear over 2500 rpm.

I can't remember is ever activating on my '12 with 3.73s, when it had stock tune. The Procal tune I put on ditched that feature without unplugging anything.

I've never seen a message pop up or had it interfer with shifing on my 2012 that I bought used. I assume they unplugged the solenoid underneath as the car has a stock tune.

I HATE the skip shift function. Which is why I run a tune with skip shift turned off Only way to delete is with a tune or pull the plug.

Before I tuned my car and eliminated it, it was not an issue because I didn't try to shift to 2nd after only taking 1st to 1500 RPM's. Drive it the way it's meant to be driven and you will never have a problem. I also start off in 2nd a lot.
