Default Automatic vacuum hose replacement?

I had to shorten my automatic transmissions vacuum hose about 1 1/2" to use on my C&L cold air intake. I don't like how it's shorter now and pulls tight against the engine cover slot (see picture). I don't know why C&L couldn't supply a standard fitting for the Ford connector on the end of that hose. Instead they give you a non-standard fitting and tell you to cut the factory hose and push onto the new stub. Well, I'm thinking of going with an Airraid CAI now and want that hose back to factory lenght. Is it not much trouble getting and installing a new hose from Ford? Thanks..

Are you talking about the one that came with the yellow clip that runs to the brake booster?

You see the three hoses going to the cold air intake above? The middle of the three which disappears under the cutout on the plastic engine cover is the one I'm talking about.

That's the one that goes to the break booster. You can buy the replacement one from Ford or switch over to the manual setup like the guys that run the Boss Intake do with their autos thus eliminating it all together.

Thanks man! Yeah I'll have to look into what the guys are doing with the Boss intake. I also need to get ahold of C&L and see if they have a standard fitting for that hose now that I could use with the ford connecter I still have from the piece of hose I snipped. Maybe it's time to finally break down, order the tuner and remove the restrictor in the CAI so I can get the full benefit from it.
