When to do first oil change?
I just bought a new 2014 mustang gt a month ago. The reason I'm asking is because it was sitting on the dealer lot for a year. Being that the oil is a year old I feel I should change it. But on the other hand I read some people say that new cars come with "break in oil" and that you should leave it. What do you guys think?

I believe Mustangs come from the factory with Motorcraft synthetic blend oil. I don't think there is any such thing as "break in oil" any more.
But sitting for a year, change it.

If your vehicle was sitting at your dealer’s lot for a year, they should have checked/changed all fluids before the sale. You can always double check with your sales/service department at your dealer.
Your vehicle is equipped with the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor™ (IOLM) system which displays a message in the message center at the proper oil change service interval; this interval may be UP TO one year or 10,000 miles (16,000 km). When ENGINE OIL CHANGE DUE or OIL CHANGE REQUIRED appears in the message center display, it’s time for an oil change; the oil change must be done within two weeks or 500 miles (800 km) of the ENGINE OIL CHANGE DUE or OIL CHANGE REQUIRED message appearing. The Intelligent Oil Life Monitor™ must be reset after each oil change. Therefore, it still learns between time and mileage.
You can find this info and your oil requirements/specifications in your Owner’s Manual Printing 3, on page 439. Also, be sure to check out our coupons here before your next service appointment.
