HA....

Well buddy with the DOHC in the 5.0 it's actually easier than that....

Just apply a GHost Cam tune for the heavy loping old school sound.

Yep...it's really that simple.

Back on track...the pistons were actually changed in 13 to a new design and coating. This eliminated the need for the squirters. Some GTs still got them as they used up supplies of older blocks. The idea that oil squirters draw 12 HP is ludicrous.

My squirter-clad '12 GT makes 439 horses at the flywheel on no mods other than a procal tune, according to the dragstrip dyno.

The 11-12 cars had no Selectshift for the auto, the 13+ did, iirc.

^^^@P51c....

That would also fall in line with what numbers Motor Trend saw when they Dyno'd the first 5.0's back in 2011. Bone stock...pulling 439 HP to the crank.

bTW...jz..... Just watched the making of Koeniqsegg Agera R .... ALSO A FLAT FRIGGIN 8!!! HyperCar for the wealthy consumer.

Just saying.

Thanx for the info. It's starting to look like I might as well buy a 2014! The "select shift" is a nice touch on an auto for when you want to paly with the gears! I'm trying to figure out if I can live with an automatic! My wife and I would probably get more use out of the Mustang with one. If I don't get an automatic it makes less sense to sell my '08 and buy a 5.0L. It's a lot of extra money just to pick up horsepower. I'd have the cost of a new GT Premium, plus the cost of putting an Roush Supercharger on it! The old '08 only has 10K miles on it! If I keep it, I've already got 460 H.P., and the "Old School" look!
Question: In 2013 was it on the gear shift selector like the 2014?

I think I'm just spoiled and should stick to what I've got!

A few easy bolt on mods and the 2014 GT will be in the same power band as your Roushcharged 4.6.

I would feel naked without the manual and not having to row my own gears. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I hear ya, but I'll be 72 in December, so maybe it will be more useful in traffic and my wife will use it more! I can argue it the other way too! Smile!

Well, the 14 is a much nice car inside over the older ones, much quieter, better ride, nicer materials, less nvh.

The auto is a magnificent design and, especially tuned, really makes the car a straight line beast.

Perspective on performance over older stuff: basically I put a slick tire and the mildest tune out there on my fully loaded '12 and it ran 11 sec.
