Default Coyote 8.8 ring and pinion swap vs new edge 8.8 ring and pinion swap

Does anyone know if the install of a ring and pinion on a coyote would be the same procedure as a new edge? The reason I'm asking is I heard that the coyote had slightly different components in the rear end compared to a new edge? I changed my my old 2003's before and it was a pretty straightforward installation. Just don't want to get in over my head before I start. Any advice is appreciated!

Yeah, should be the same install. You know what's ****ed up? American Muscle has the kits for sale and charges an extra $25 for the 10-14 kit than the 05-09 kit even though they should be the same. Only difference I see is the gear oil weight and that shouldn't cause a price difference. See if you can get it from somewhere cheaper first.

The only potential difference may be the inner pinion bearing. Pictured here is the inner pinion bearing from the Ford Racing M-4210-B1 install kit (way to small).

And here is the Ford 6L2Z-4624-AB (bearing and race) or KOYO KOY4190LFT bearing that were required for my my differential.

It shouldn't be. I bought the Ford install kit and it came with the Koyo bearing you pictured 2nd. Maybe you just grabbed the wrong bearing out the kit?

I should have mentioned my housing is part number DR3Z-4010-A and I definitely did not pick the wrong bearing from the M-4210-B1 install kit. This housing for a Boss 302 or 2013/14 GT500 uses the 6L2Z-4625-AB inner pinion bearing.

There is also at least one more possible inner pinion bearing for the 8.8 housing. B1 kit bearing on the left and Timken M802048 on the right.
