Back in the market for a Mustang.. need to catch up

Not yet, but I will take some soon. The first owner put Shelby badges on the side for some unknown reason, and I have been waiting on the dealer to remove them and replace them with something OEM before I post pictures, because upbadging is a huge pet peeve of mine and I currently feel like a hypocrite.

With you all the way there. I'd de-badge long before up-badging anything.
We used to leave the 307 badges on old Chevys for that reason. Suckering people in when you had a built 327 underhood or similar was good times.
On the mufflers again...the GT500s are made of cheap-but-tough ferritic 409 stainless, which makes them durable but, ugly, compared to the nice shiny 304 stainless (18% chromium) that expensive mufflers sometimes use. You an polish 409 to a fairly high finish but, it tends to rust if heated afterwards. Paint is better. Polishing the tips is fine, they don't get hot enough to do anything.

Well I would have bought yours if I had known. I'll probably get some borlas or something more aggressive sometime soon. Just heard another 5.0 with exhaust circling the block and it sounded really nice.
Regarding the painting, I'll have to see what you mean when I install them. And that's fine, I'll just put them in a box then.
