Default polishing exhuast from painted black

so, i am new here and i finally bought my first mustang! i got a 2013 gt used and it came with pypebomb axel-backs painted black. I like them ALOT! they sound awesome! the black 4" tips looks bad@$$ too but i decided i wanted polished look.

So, i decided to strip off all the black paint and polish them to MIRRORS!

i first got the mustang on a lift and took them off and got 'em home. i applied a citrus based paint stripping gel i got at home depot. i applied this super thick pink sludge with a paint brush and let it set for about 1 hour. it helped bubble up the paint and it came off like plastidip! there were some more stubborn spots so i repeated it 3 times in other spots that didn't come off easily.

after stripping off every spec of paint; i got some 100 grit, 300 grit and 800 grit sandpaper and sanded them to ALMOST perfection. once it had a super smooth almost reflective surface i got some BLUE MAGIC metal polish and started the very long and tiring hand polishing!

in total, it took about 4 hours of paint striping 2 hours of sanding each pipe, and 2 hours of hand polishing each. 8 hours each, 16 hours of total work over 3 days!

this is what it looked like starting the paint stripping

they look pretty spiffy to me! but needs more work

that looks great! a good buff with some toothpaste with baking soda in it will give you even more shine!
