Battery Issue Need Help
Hello Fellow Stang'ers
I have a 2013 GT Convertible Prem. Recently I had parked my Stang (underground garage) for about 3 months (Winter period). Over the weekend I got theinsurance and decided to take my baby for a ride.
Battery, of course was dead (lesson learned have a battery tender during parking months). Once I juiced up the battery it started like a charm. I got it out for a spin (about 15-20 mins) and then parked it. I tried to start the car again and battery died again.
Basically, i have to juice it up everytime i have to drive the car.
Please help what should i do? get a battery tender and charge it up to 100% OR replace the battery? I hope its the alternator
To me this is really odd for a new model vehicle where battery dies so fast as I never had any trouble before with my Stang's battery.
Note: this is the first time i had parked her for Winter period.
cheers
Hans

Unhook the battery when you leave it for long periods of time.
You probably didn't drive it enough for the alternator to charge it (I doubt).
It is likely you may need a new alternator. Take your battery to an auto store to get it tested.

Thanks for your help. I have an appointment with my local Ford Dealer for oil change so they will check the battery condition.
I always thought this was the problem on old cars not for newer models. I will make sure not to leave it like this next time. Will use Battery Tender or unhook the battery.
