Thermostat position

Default Thermostat position

I think I installed the thermostat the wrong way. Getting hot real fast!

Which direction does the spring face? Spring facing engine or spring outward toward radiator

Hey Im not real sure either but I found this page. I am gonna be putting on a new thermostat pretty soon too so if anyone sees this and knows if its right or wrong please let me know.

I installed it with the spring facing into the engine.

Yep...the end with all the guts.....the spring and the heat sensor go INSIDE the engine. The end that doesnt really have anything on it faces outward toward the radiator.
