I have ac and no smog pump and want to know what is the size because the 81" was too small. I am thinking more on the lines of 84 or 85. But i am not too sure. If anyone knows this would help me out alot!!! THANKS!!!

We did that to a friend of mine's '85 GT. Removed the smog pump, kept the A/C. The belt was 83" I believe.

does an 85 have the same belt pattern as a 88? I just really need to know the measure for sure because i have to take the wrong one back and i dont want to be wasting time going back and forth with the different belts. I need a 100% answer thats all im saying. So does 83" seem right to everyone else? THANKS!!!

i think its supposed to be 84.5 but when i did mine i had to use an 81" belt

i routed mine like the top right picture in that link, and with STOCK PULLEYS it does not work, as the tensioner pulls the belt too low and touches the part that goes over the water pump. i just got my ford power steering relocator kit in the mail and will be moving my power steering to where my a/c is now to delete that and the smog. trust me on the stock pulleys not working, i sat in front of napa for a while switching belts the other day :P
