Default my color

I just installed an upgraded IP with mycolor from Y2k Ford on my 2007 GT. I now get a warning chime when I shift into reverse. Is this normal?

you have to go to the dealer and have them load the "as built" data from your old cluster into the new one

Just my opinion but, I think the "my color" thing is way overrated. I have it on my car and was bored with it on day 2. I hate to see people go through all that effort and money for a mod that is really no big thing. Like I say JMO.

It definitely has to do with the upgrade. Do you also get the chime when you hit high speeds? I recall another forum member having the same problems.

But I do change it once in a great while. I dont think its all that to be able to change colors at any time, but at least pick one you like and stick with it.

Yeah, I think it was when he hit 75mph.

Here is what you need to know about doing the switch

Check behind the dummy buttons as seen here. If you have the harness behind there you are good to go for the upgrade.

This picture obvious has the real buttons already but you get the idea.

Contact Ed Olsen at Parr Ford
parts@parrauto.com
Phone: 360-616-6749

He will know exactly what you need to when you ask him about the mycolor swap.

You can then install the cluster yourself and see if everything works. If it does, then you are done! If something doesnt work or you get the annoying chimes, you then can take the car into ford and have them reflash with the "as built" data and then you shoud be good to go.

Total cost is around $300 with core exchange.
