Ignition Coil- Which Wire is Negative?

Ignition Coil- Which Wire is Negative?

I have an 89 5.0 lx. On my coil the red is on the left and the green is on the right. I'm wondering if anyone knows which one is negavtive.

what kinda coil u have?
and it is easy to check which wire is ground.
get a digital multimeter and set it on ohms, make sure it is the one that beeps when you touch both leads together.
then put one lead on the neg battery post and try a wire, try both, just to make sure which one it is.

That's the coil.

looks like a stock replacement just plug in the stock plug and the neg is the green

Well when I took the digital multimeter and put one end on the red wire which is on the left and then I put the other end on the negative battery post, I had resistance. On the other hand, I had no resistance with the green wire.
