We have a 2002 3.8L V6 mustang that is very sluggish when taking off and seems to miss will cruising at a constant speed. The check engine light came and I had AutoZone tell me the code.

It is a P0301 which is cylinder 1 misfire. They told me the OEM cross number was P0316 which is the crank sensor failure.

I replaced the crank sensor and nothing changed...

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

have you looked at your spark plugs?

check your wires sometimes the egr pipe can burn a hole in 1 or your headers

Not yet but after reading all the threads I guess will do the following:

Change fuel filter
Change plugs
Change plug wires
Change coil packs
Change air filter

Hope all this works! Any other ideas, please let me know.

thant youll def get it. its probably coil packs, 8x,xxx miles? thats when mine went in my 02
