I installed the 08-09 Bullitt mufflers today, they installed great and look great and line up almost perfect but they not really any louder, just a hair deeper than stock, I am wondering if they are less or more restrictive than the stock units because they are not made for the GT500 supercharged motor?

the Bullitt mufflers are also on the GT500KR.... and it's noticeably louder than the GT500.....

do you have the H pipe?

No, I have the stock xpipe but the KR mufflers have the Bullitt tips but the cans are round so they must be different internals?

oh yeah, that's right.... that might be why
you might be able to ask your dealership about the difference in the Bullitt exhaust and the KR exhaust

I was at the Shelby plant and a few KR's drove by. They are much louder than GT500's, so it must be the H-pipe vs X-pipe.

The 08-09 Bullitt has a special (Bullitt Unique) designed H pipe with a restriction plate in the "H" cross over tube, for less exhaust pulse restriction, thus making the exhaust note both deeper & louder.
