did you use silicone sealer (rtv) on both sides of the gasket and the housing?

Sounds like you have a cracked manifold[] THey usually crack out the t-stat housing....same thing happend to me. I thought it needed a new o-ring,, but it turned out there was a crack inside the t-stat housing.

On my camaro, the same thing happened. After 2 new thermostats i used the rtv on the gasket and it was fine. If that doesnt work you prob do have a cracked t-stat housing or manifold like devinsteen said.

First remove the 2 bolts... remove rubber gasket and then thermostat. Put in new thermostat, put rubber o-ring/seal over it and put hose back on and tighten bolts down.... If it doesnt work something is wrong.

hes got a 99 though, so its not likely to be a crack manifold. sometimes when i change o rings i bolt em down too tight so they twist and leak. definetly unbolt it and check, and use the gasket sealer..it saves lives.

Thank you Acer. Like I said, it might be cracked....hopefully it's not. But it's not just going to leak coolant for no reason.
