Thanks for posting this up! It's interesting that this problem is so common. I tried to get Ford to fix this under warranty last month, and when my dealer contacted Ford for authorization, they said they never heard of the problem and the mirror must have been hit in a collision, so they wouldn't cover it. I guess I'll knock this out this weekend
