Value of a 1969 Mustang Coupe
Hey all...I was wondering if someone with a bit of knowledge of the current market could give me an idea as to what the worth of a restored 1969 Mustang Coupe. The car is a one owner piece, and he put in a 351 Cleveland a few years back. I will list some of the other features below and attach a few pics. If someeone could give me an idea what they believe the car is worth it would be greatly appreciated.
-1969, Wimbledon White
-351 Celeveland, 4 barrel
- Ford 9 inch rear end, 373 gears
- c6 auto transmission
-electric fuel pump
-750 double pumper

Specs look good, but what matters is the condition, and originality to a lesser extent. I've been offered $20k for mine, with much lower specs than that, so it all depends on what condition it's in and if you can find a buyer.

Location is a big factor too. A lot of southern places have tons of rust-free bodies just laying around, the farther north the more expensive. Good luck finding even a rusty classic Mustang in need of a restoration for less than $7000 around here. Depending on where you are in NY classics may fetch a faily high price, even coupes.

There are also services like carfax if you want to do that, but some of them will not work with cars that do not have a 16 digit vins (older vehicles).
Remember, with classics, there is a super-big grey area with the condition of the car's infrastructure. An ad that is offering a cherry auto with a new looking chromed-out engine bay may have crap brakes or flood rust. To really get an accurate appraisal, one has to really look at many cars for sale/sold.
Good luck. I hope our cars are worth a ton. I'd like to know myself so I can make proper adjustments to my insurance.
