Hey guys... new to the mustang world after rolling my miata... just bought a 99 gt vert and the low coolant light comes on every now and then... sometimes stays on for long time sometimes goes off... temp gauge never goes past halfway..... car runs out well.... attempted to add coolant but seemed full w/o an overflow tank. What do you mean seemed full without and overflow tank?

The sensor is on the bottom of the tank, and if I remember cannot be replaced seperately. Check to see if the connector is loose

Drain and refill (i believe it's 50/50) and if your still having problems, It's a sensor.

Hey guys thanks... I was thinking prolly a sensor... and sorry i wasnt clear this is my first Mustang.. on my Miata it has(had) a seperate overflow tank and rad cap. not together as they are on the stang. I need to drain/refill anyway so that will be the plan. Thanks for making a new guy feel at home. This place seems just as friendly and helpful as my miata fourm. Thanks again

No problem bud... Ford likes to use the "degas" bottle on basically everything, eliminating the radiator cap. If you drain and refill, and you know the level is good, and your still getting a light, I'd start looking for a new degas bottle
