UPDATE...
I got a email this morning from Dave at Brenspeed and he said if my buddy wasn't able to do a "return to stock" before getting rid of the car, then the tuner will have to go back to SCT for unlocking

BUT he did say if my buddy can show proof that the car was totaled, that SCT may waive their fee for unlocking it

I still haven't heard from Bamachips.
