Yeah, and Honda would also charge an insane price! They overprice everything, so that doesn't say much. Plus how do you figure they do things they could never dream of? The new Camaro will be 422hp for a 32k car! That is really good compared to Ford's embarassing 315hp! It's not that American companies can't dream of it, it's that they typically are cheap, which resorts to americans buying foreign cars. Chevy learned this the hard way, which is why they no longer are trying to offer "lackluster cars" as they put it, and are actually making cars, with appropriate power to put down their foreign counterparts.

They can muster more, but they are arrogantly conservative! Regardless, a mildly modded New Edge has the torque to pull a 370Z out of the hole. I don't think they really are that impressive. Keep in mind, that and the S2000 are both 2 seater cars. So the Mustang can hang with it with 4 seats, and more weight.

If they dropped the modular 5.0 "cammer" motor they offer through their Ford Racing division, they would destroy all the competition. Why they don't is beyond me! They could easily offer a next level GT (maybe a Mach 1, or Boss again) with that engine for $5k over what a standard GT is. I guarantee they would sell like hotcakes! Resale value would be consistent as well!
