Default signs of a bad harmonic balancer???

hey guys. what are some signs of a bad harmonic balancer. My engine kinda blurps or shimmies when i'm in neutral revin it between 1500-2000 rpms. i barley tap the gas just enough to raise the rpms alittle in this rpm range?? i can feel it when i do the same thing driving. Don't think its a big deal, but i'm still curious to what it could be.

If its the stock type one the rubber between the inner and outer rings would be damaged enough to where the rings would move independently from each other. Another issue to is a loose balancer to the crank but thats pretty rare.

theres almost no chance your harmonic balancer has gone bad. Those things are almost indestructable.

is it like, hesitating for a second, like a slight slight loss of power for a sec?

if it was anything like mine, the two pieces separated completely power shifting into fourth about 2 years ago. I conveniently had my steeda underdrives showed up the next morning

Sounds like a mis-fire to me. Somewhere in the ignition.

i forgot to mention i have steeda underdrive pullies. so the crank pulley and balancer are one piece. i've had it on the car for 2 yrs. If it is a miss its not doing it enough to pop up a check engine light. I mean it only happens between these rpm ranges. I had so many problems with stumbling within the past year finally fixed everything now this

I have a tuner that data logs, but as soon as i disconnect it from the car i loose the info that i data log so i can't hook it up to my comp. I'm gonna try to put the software on my labtop. is there anyway that i can make a graph the info while driving. like does sct have graphing options in its software???

Yes SCT has a program called LiveLink that will allow you to use a regular old USB printer cable to link your laptop with the car/tuner. That's what I always did. It's free to download off their site and if you have ANY troubles, call SCT. Their tech line is AWESOME!

Just take my word for it, DONT rule out an ignition miss. I'm not swearing that I'm right, but most of the time it's exactly what you are describing. A small hesitation ONLY between a certain RPM, with no CEL. IMO it's a coilpack thats acting up.
