Didn't take it that way.

But I doubt that any discussion of TPMS on an enthusiast forum without the discussion drifting a bit is possible. TPMS is a new system of marginal usefulness to most enthusiasts. One that in and of itself it does nothing for either performance or ride and mostly just represents more regulatory interference with the automotive hobby. Remember that the chief reason for its requrement is that a relatively few Explorer owners failed to maintain their tires at either recommended or adequate inflation pressures.
