Exclamation Will 315-35-17's FIT

Hey stangbangers....i have a lil issue with rim and tire fitment. i new here and i desperately need help. I have a 97 cobra and i jus purchased the 03 style chrome 5 spoke wheels 17x9 front...17x10.5 rear. im lowering my car with the eibach pro kit and before i buy my tires i need to know if the 315-35-17 will fit without having to roll my fender or remove my quad shocks?? with it being lowerd will those wheels still fit if not what would be the best tire size for the rear thank you all for your time !

haha stangbangers.. i like the name

I know for a fact that you can be lowered with 315's on the rear with the new edges (99-04)

i'm pretty sure that the 315's will fit on your 97 cobra... that doesnt have an IRS does it?? you should be fine putting 315's on there without any other modifications, but let's wait for somebody else to chime in on this topic...

BUMPPPPP

thanks for the reply! i do not want to roll my quarter panel or remove my quad shocks. if i have to do either of those for 315's then thats not the tire for me and yes it has IRS still open for help thanks again!

From what i know, you just need to buy the low profile IRS bolt from americanmuscle.com or wherever else in order to get 315's (10.5's) to fit on a cobra with IRS.. i know for a fact that applies for 99/01 and 03/04 cobras... idk much about pre new edge cobras.. keep searching or waiting for someone to respond...

otherwise, call up americanmuscle tomorrow and see whats up

The pre-New Edge Cobras are SRA, so the IRS bolt will be hard to find

I am sure you will need to remove the quads. I cannot swear to it, but don't see you having room with them. I am told they can be rotated 180°, but removing them is not a problem.

You may want to do a little "massaging" to the fender wells, but probably will not need to roll the fenders.

fender should be fine, just flip the quad shocks around and you should be good to go

Thanks jazzer... i was thinking to myself i really think the IRS came in 99/01 and 03/04 cobras but he seemed confident in his response lol..

and +1 to jazzer's response... i've been looking online for you and some people get away without any modifications.. and others get away with rotating the quad shocks which supposedly allows up to another .5".... some people still need to bang the inner fender wells in just a tad bit more.. and others just totally remove the quad shocks..

hope that helps a little bit
