being an import person myself and knowing the eclipse, it's got a 2.0 I4 non-turbo, you'd beat it by 1-3 car lengths no problem, but if its got the 2.4, i'd be close but your beat him standing start (dont remeber how slow the 150hp v6 mustang is)and no way top end or street start, espeically if it's a 3rd gen, 3rd gen eclipse's have mad top end, both I4 and v6. also keep in mind you can not determine the outcome of a race by horsepower alone, weight and gearing play a major factor. but if you really want to find out, just goto a track or a side street

and not to start an import vs domestic debate, i am pro-ford, but credit is due when you got a car with a 1.8lt 4Cyl, run and beat v-8s and get twice the gas mileage while doing it no matter what it sounds or looks like

Uhhh... I am HOPING you are not talking about the 1.8 L eclipse. No way in hell it is beating any V8 (unless it is in a van). My mother had one of those, with a 5 speed. Can you say SLLLLLooooowwww.

At that time current family cars (not all of them, just the ones realitve to this post) were:

Brother; 2.0 94 talon (5 spd)

Me; 2.0 92 laser (5 spd)

Other Brother 2.0 Turbo AWD Talon (5 spd)

Mom; 1.8L laser (5sp)

All of them werent very fast. I MIGHT have been able to beat a v6 (lower than 99) if i got lucky. My oldest bro could rape em.

BTW i NEVER got beat by a saturn (lol). Your saturn cannot beat v6 stangs. No way, no how.

If ya wanna try to prove me wrong, still have the laser avalible (sold it to my younger brothers g/f) although it is smoking a bit after driving it from KC to quincy on 2 cylenders (computer went out)

lol, the eclipse will rape u if it has the 2.4, my cuz has a 2.0 turbo, "slightly better" and even b4 all the mods he would rape cars like urs for fun, specially off a roll, i suggest makin sure he has the 2.0 na if u dont want ur feelings hurt
lol, its funny when people do this, they go reading in the archives and i guess forget thats where they are, and bring back posts from like 2 years ago. Its an alright post tho nonetheless.
