Default 98 to 94 engine swap

All,

I can get a 98 232 with 26k for 700$ but the bone yard said the 94-98 are not a direct swap. I should be able to use my existing fuel rail and accessories on this vehicle correct. I know I should go with the 99+ but looking for a quick swap for now. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Tony

Default 98 to 94 engine swap

the block on the 98 should match directly to the 94 motor mounts. You may have to switch out some of the sensors. I think the 98 have larger fuel injectors so you would probably have to use the injectors off of the old engine. The engine setups are the same. same size and the sensors are in the same place. I think the sensor plugs are different, which is why you would have to use the old sensors. I just swapped a 99+ engine into my 94. I had to have a new fuel rail made to add a return line to the 99 rail. I also had to switch the camshaft sensor. I also had to cut and splice the injecotor plug wires from the 99 harness to the 94, because the plugs on the injectors are different. I also had to cut and splice a few of the other sensor plugs to work with the 99 sensors I could use. I also had to lengthen some of the wires on the 94 harness cause the sensors are in different places. Also when you switch to a 99+ you need to use the 99 MAF sensor, because the 99 uses 21lb injectors and the 94 uses 14 lb injectors. I was able to use the 94 computer. I recommend getting the 99+ engine. It's got 50 more HP and the swap is about the same as it would be to swap the 98.

Dude don't spend $700 on a single port engine....or a split port. you can find split ports(99-04) usually around $400-450 with pretty low mileage. PM this guy.
