Angry Newbie! Mustang vs V8 Chevy ?L Truck

I got spanked, help! Don't laugh, I'm a truck guy turned Stang! So I'm a car newbie. I thought I would've wooped him in this car!

Currently its:
Stock with dual exhaust
V6 3.8L
Revs set high
Automatic (go ahead and throw stones, tennis balls prefered)

Here are my choices:

1
$600 160 horse power added, plus more fuel efficient
K&N Air Filter
High Performance Fuel Pump
Jet Tronic Chip
Possibly MSD super conductor wires
Done---------- (this is what I wanted to do, what you think?) How long will a full tank of gas last with this mod?

2
1) Cold air intake
2) High flow headders
3) High flow exhaust
4) Light weight underdrive pulley
5) Light weight wheels
6) Synthetic motor oil
7) Take all things not needed out of the car that are heavy
8) Use the recommend octane fuel
9) Get a supercharger
10) Upgrade to iridium spark plugs

How long will a full tank of gas last with this mod?

or just

3
Exhaust/Intake/Chip/Pulleys and Suspension/Brakes
How long will a full tank of gas last with this mod?

Please, I know I have some items there now, but there google from other sites. Just advice my like a newbie, ignore the lists if it hinders your comments! I need! your comments. This is my first car, and I got beat bad! Read bad! And he probably held back tones.

HELP!

'How long will a full tank of gas last with this mod?' Please these above and use your own gas prices you pay. It's the same question that stopped me from buying a V8 instead, too much money to fill every week!

How much power can I expect from this car period?

What 'low' cost respectable horse power mods would you make to beat most cars on the road?

What 'high' cost respectable horse power mods would you make to beat most cars on the road?

HELP!

Too much reading and too much crap on the list...

Option 1 wont get you 160hp.
Option 2 would but theirs some junk in it you don't need (UDP with a supercharger? iridijunk spark plugs?)
Option 3 sounds decent

how much MONEY do you want to spend? and what did you get beat buy? a 5.3L??

You can expect as much HP as you have money to support...

And if your worried about GAS mileage then you need a.) a daily driver or b.) something that gets 40mpg!

Option 1) 16 hp.
Option 2) Just skip steps 1 to 8, do 9 and be done.

Best option: Read stickies at the top of the Sixer secion, and learn a lot.

Well I beat my friends Chevy Silverado either 5.9 or 6.4L I believe? He only got me on the take of because my tires spun a little, I caught up to him within like 4 seconds though..

Here are my choices:

$600 160 horse power added, plus more fuel efficient
K&N Air Filter - 2-3 rwhp
High Performance Fuel Pump - WHY???? no need with barely more than stock power
Jet Tronic Chip - junk, get a tuner instead
Possibly MSD super conductor wires - WHY????
Done---------- (this is what I wanted to do, what you think?) How long will a full tank of gas last with this mod? - About the same as now.

2
1) Cold air intake - 2-4 rwhp
2) High flow headders - junk
3) High flow exhaust - read the stickies - 5-10 rwhp
4) Light weight underdrive pulley - doesn't exist/junk
5) Light weight wheels - decent mod, but expensive
6) Synthetic motor oil - not a bad choice but no power
7) Take all things not needed out of the car that are heavy - you're not a racer here
8) Use the recommend octane fuel - 87 is all you need unless tuned for higher
9) Get a supercharger - awesome idea, and best one listed
10) Upgrade to iridium spark plugs - WHY???

How long will a full tank of gas last with this mod? Even with the S/C as long as you're not romping on the pedal you'll get roughly the same MPG.

or just

3
Exhaust/Intake/Chip/Pulleys and Suspension/Brakes - not a bad choice, skip the chip, and go tuner, and get a Cobra conversion brake kit, 10X better than stock.
How long will a full tank of gas last with this mod? Same as before
