Run the engine in a dark garage & if you can see any arcing it will be plainly visible in the dark. If no arcing suspect plugs. If it's a misfire you should get a code pretty soon (CEL).

Lots of other things can cause misfire. Try swapping injectors if you can find out which cylinders are misfiring. You really need a code though to be sure ,....... you can try pulling plug wires & noting when the engine speed is NOT affected. Once you have isolated which cylinders, the job becomes a lot easier!
If the misfire is proved to be totally random, then fuel supply system or emmision control components could be the cause. The coil packs are pretty reliable but since lost spark EDIS system is used on many mustangs 2 cylinders should be affected concurrently.

Can a dirty EGR cause a misfire? And also, how do you check the coil pack?

well if your misfire is like mine, i just found out what my problem was
mine is not in any pattern, i can just hear it mis/not combust once every few seconds or so

cylinder number 5 injector is going bad, and so are some others but not as bad as cyl 5. it is still in the "green" on the ford software i was using, but still enough to leak a bit

so im going to be replacing all my injectors soon when i get the money

you could try running premium see if it gets better

That's exactly what mine is doing.

I have tried 93 Oct. and it hasn't affected it at all... My auto instructor said that it sounded like air/fuel mixture...

well if thats the exact symptom, your looking at a injector on its way out

ive tried another coil pack, and it didnt fix it, pulled my plugs and re gapped, didnt do anything, cleaned the injectors, helped a LITTLE but still there. and like i said i used ford software and tested my injectors and there is at least one that is getting close to the "red" and some others that arent as bad, but not perfect
