I've been doing a good bit of math here tonight, out of boredom. I've figured out all the ratios for all available underdrive pulleys and all available s/c overdrive pulleys.

It seems that with a 42% a 2.93 and even a 2.76 overdrive pulley can be safey used on an all-stock 3.8. Running a 2.76 upper with a 42% lower will net an additional .445" of hood clearance and a 2.93 will net .36" of additional clearance. it may not sound like much, but I think it's a pretty big difference combined with the newest supecharger plates.

I have to wait until to I get home to run everything through the simulators, but it looks like a 2.93 on a 42% UDP will net around 11psi with NO trailoff in boost or efficiency, and a 2.76 with a 42% will have VERY slight inefficiency @ 2500rpm.

I'm looking at some other option, as it seems that with either a Whipple 140AX or 170AX body we can reduce the amount of overall hood clearance and increase the efficiency while also completely taking of any heat issues.

When I get a chance to run my simulations and account for a ton of other variables, I'm gonna see if there is a possibly of manufacturing my own custom supercharger JUST for our application with the ability to increase boost levels safely and efficiently.

IMO if you are going to upgrade the lower intake then you might as well take out the IMRC's. I don't remeber who it was but when his IMRC's opened his smooth dyno graph started getting really choppy, and he said that his tuner was having problems tuning around the IMRC's.

Would it be a bad idea to put an m112 one my car? it has 110,000 miles, and my dad just thinks that the engine will blow.

It depends how well the engine has been taken care of or not. If not it probably wont handle the compression too well. I think a compression test is the best way to tell but ask some of these guys who know more.

Yes, a compression test will tell you if it's safe to go forced induction.
