Default service engine soon light

new to this forum. i have a 02 v6 mustang and i'm getting a service engine soon light intermitantly. when it comes on the engine runs rough and seems to loose power somewhat. any ideas on where i should start and what are the common causes of this. i'm assumming the this light is the same a check engine light on my other cars.

Well, no need to tell the person they are wrong, but you just need a mod to move it over to the other v6 forums.

Anyways it sounds like some sort of vac leak or something to me. Really need more info

Go to autozone or other local car place and have them read your diagnostic codes. Then post up the codes for more help.

Didn't mean to sound mean lol, my bad.

My brother had that problem on his 02 GT, he had a leak in his intake manifold, get that checked out.

sry to tell ya this but this is not the sn197 v6 section. its the good years of the mustang v6 section.
