Ok Im sixteen and I just got my drivers licsense. Any way My dad bought me a new 2008 v6 mustang to drive. I love it, but theres one problem. As with any new teen driving I want it to go faster. I look over all kinds of websites,online stores and magazines for parts. I know what most of them are but some im not sure and I dont know what some do or where they go. I am limited on cash. I need to know what to do first to make it a classic ride. Oh and by the way its blue.

I would suggest that you get to know the power of your car before you start adding more power to it. Im not saying that your a bad driver or anything but most teens that just got their licence think they are F1 drivers.

But onto modding your car, you will need a tuner to get the full benefits of all the mods you do to your car. Start with the basics, Cold Air Intake, dual exhaust, rims/tires, lowering springs/shocks/struts.

Not saying that I am the best driver but I have been driving my parents cars here and there for two years now. It is a 4.0 v6 with 210 horsepower and 240 ft.lb. torque. Ok Ive read that you have to have a tunerwith cold air intake because it trips up you cars computor. Is this true? Um and with a tuner how do I tune it? Is it a problem if I dont have access to a dyno?

There are some that have pre set-tunes, or changeable parameters.

You can buy a tuner/cai combo. You just plug the tuner directly into the car's computer and it will upload the new tune(s) into the car for you. Not hard or difficult to do at all. An exhaust system will wake the car up a little bit more as well as give it a decent sound. Tuner/cai/exhaust usually give about 30-40hp on the 4.0L. You would definitely be able to feel the difference in the car. The next logical step would be gears/lsd/driveshaft. Then after that you can decide whether you want to go all out on the car or what way you want to take the car in. Me personally, I have done hardly any hp mods, mine are mostly all suspension mods.

IMO i would take a year or two start with looks wheels, springs, a few exterior things here and there gt500 front facia is tits on those then move into suspension work nothing major at first then as you progress in your abilities and understanding of how things work and how to drive in certain situations then you can start adding power i personally didnt start doing anything with any sort of power unitll i felt REALLY comfortable behind the wheel of my car its been two years now i took it slow the first year or so now im starting to roll into it

thats just me dont go out make it fast then wreck it because you get squirly and over correct ive seen it happen too many times

Oh ok. what about putting everything on there then tuning it. Is it possible to have too much horsepower? Will some of the bolt ons take place of others. I only plan for bolt ons now, because going inside would probably cost me more.I plan to do some stuff with suspension too.Is it possible to put a rolecage in without taking out back seats becuase my dad said I cant take them out.

dont put a cage unless your running like low 7s in the eighth its just weight and you could but youd have to cut your interior panels to attach it to the frame of the car id be more worried about getting weight out of the car build a well handling and good looking and good sounding car at your age im not trying to harp i jsut dont want you to get hurt or wreck and ruin your new ride
