Those are incredibly low speeds to shift at. I have 3.73's and its impossible to shift to
5th under 45mph.

Huh, there is noway you should be in 5th gear at 35-40 mph. I have stock gears and I can't get into 5th until 50mph, and it's right on the verge of dragging the clutch(About 52mph is the best). Even with 3.73's, you should be right about 45-50mph to hit 5th under normal driving conditions. You may need a programmer, your speedometer might be off. As for upshifting, I usually go from 5th to 3rd(In my old 95, I went from 3rd straight to 5th all the time) and tap it until neutral and coast the rest of the way tapping the brakes here and there. A little off the topic, but I was wondering if you guys have chirped 3rd gear with the A/C on. I was driving the other day and some jerk driving stupid was road blocking which I can't stand, so I went around him hitting second gear to third, and chirped 3rd gear, which surprised me because our cars aren't fast, I mean, I know my tired are about 60%, but was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else. The 2000 Mustang that I own is completely stock, no mods at all aside from the silencer removal. Anyway, just thought I would share, it surprised me to say the least, especially with the A/C on(108 degrees that day).

Same here. I'm usually in second as soon as I start moving (come to think of it, I'm not sure why I use first lol), go into 3rd at about 25, 4th around 35, and 5th around 50 or once I'm cruising. I can get into 5th at 40 if I'm maintaining a cruise, but if I'm trying to accelerate, it's just too low in the powerband to do anything except lug the engine.
