The tlock for the 7.5" has broken at stock new edge v6 power levels. I have a friend with one in his 98 v6 and the tlock is on its last leg and all he has is dual exhaust and a cai.

I always say this and I'll say it again:

Just get an 8.8, if for the sole reason of the aftermarket for it. Finding anything past gears and an LSD for a 7.5 is next to impossible. You can get an 8.8 out of just about anything, and you're not gonna have to worry about breaking it, especially with a relatively stock V6.

Or if you want something relatively bulletproof, get a 9". But you'd sound like a dumbass telling people you have a 9" rear in your stock V6, lol.

Well i am def not gettin a 9inch but idk which would be better to get tlok or get 8.8 and just put it on. I can find them everywhere in the junk yards and there a direct bolt on and idk why but i want 3.90 gears and u have to have an 8.8 to get them, they dont make them for the 7.5. But it would be easier to just put tlok in my car and not mess with tearing out the rear end. I have no idea what to do what do u suggest and is it a pain in the butt to swap the 7.5 out for a 8.8?

Taking out the 7.5 and putting in an 8.8 (direct swap) is a HELL of a lot easier than a gear swap. It's something your everyday DIYer can do.
