I get sick of this v6 to v8 swap. If your not happy with what you've got then get rid of it (money permitting) For me, it wasn't the power gain of getting a GT, it was the exhaust sound! haha, sounds like an expensive exhaust but it's worth it to be happy. Plus, i'll be keeping this car forever

im working on my swap i havent completed it yet but in my car which is a 2000 model all of the wiring harness aside from what in the engine compartment is that same between my year v6 and my year gt the only thing different was a few plugs for the mach sound system that this particular GT had
so far i've only had to replace on the inside
- pedals
thats it aside from removing the auto shifter, so reall its just gonna take the GT's engine/engine harness and the other accesories in the engine compartment + the hydroboost system because im pretty sure the V8 wont clear the vacuum booster if you can get a scrap GT same year for 1.5-2.5k and can do the installation yourself i'd say its worth it plus you'll have a car thats unique not just another GT
If you can get a donor car for cheap then do it, but if you will need to piece part sell it and get a gt, according to Kelley Blue Book you should be able to sell you car for a decent price and get a gt.
i got a 01 sixxer an i can get a v8 engine tranny but what else is needed?? ecu? the rear end? gas lines?
I converted mine with a low milage donor car. Cost me 2500 and a little over a full week of my life. If your gotta pay someone else to do the work then forget about it cause it's cheaper to buy a GT. I waited till my sixer died first though. Was planning to go back with a newer split port v6 but this turned out to cost about the same for me. Anyways it's alot of work and you have to be able to adapt.
You have to replace the engine and all accesories (alternator, starter etc.), tranny, ecu, ccrm, all the wiring around the motor, brake master cylinder, the rear end differential is recommended but not required (depends on the driver and what you want), the axle, the entire exhaust, fuel lines, and then it's gettin it all to work meaning at a minimum the ecu has to be reset.

Wiring harness is the same huh? Good luck making those other two injectors work
the harness inside of the car is the same, the harness under the right fender disconnects from the harness leading inside of the car that needs to be changes as well everything leading into the engine compartment harness wise needs to be changed
before starting the swap me and my father looked over the wiring and matched it wire for wire with the v8 harness and plug for plug, my father has been doing mechanic work for 35 years and is the best mechanic in town and he's done plenty of swaps, just because everyone says "oh you need ALL of the harness blah blah cause its V8" doesn't mean you do, it means they aren't smart enough to check it out before replacing it cause all they know is the v8 isn't a v6 therefore the everything must be different
