it'll cost you 2 times as much to swap a v8 than to buy a GT

yeah, but if you build your own v8 youll also get 3x the performance.

TRADE MY Mach 1 HOOD + scoop set up for easy GT install (attached, no intake system necessary, unless you want it) for a COWL hood and maybe STOCK + CASH (but probably not). The hood is painted silver, in great shape, does need a color sand, but thats no biggie. Would prefer a swap for a silver one, but will consider many options. Need to trade due to changed plan on this car. RTP/Greensboro/Charlotte

Do you just seek out these threads to prove you don't know crap about Mustangs other than fake wanna be Cobras and give the V8 crowd as a whole a bad name?
Money to build a high performance V8 (let's say 600 hp) and then swap it into a V6 is MORE than the money to build the current V6 to make that much power.
I strongly suggest you pick your knuckles up off the ground, walk upright and learn to comprehend engine building 101.

yeah I suppose if u get a junkyard v8 block and rebuild it with good internals and heads then maybe u can get more power for less than a GT... but you gotta practically be a ace mechanic and fabricator too cause after you build the engine you gotta pull you k member and chop it up to move motor mounts and have a good welder to securely mount everything back. Then if you go fuel injection a new computer and a dyno tune session and find a wire harness. Then a new transmission cause the t5/4r70w trans most likely wont blot up to the new v8, and you'll have to re-size your drive shaft. then and after that buy a new rear end cause the 7.5 wont take that abuse from the v8... is it me or is this starting to get expensive? hmmm block mebe 500, forged internals 2000, cam 500, heads 2000-2500, the misc. bag 1500, wires/comp or carb another 500-1500, trans 500-1000 driveshaft work.. a good welder 1000 and a built rear end 2000.... so yep so with a minimum of around 12 grand, being a ace mechanic and pro fabricator and doing all install your self. oh wait suspension tak another 2 Gs on to that or u can take that minimum 14K and invest into ur 6 or get a gt and start adding things. point made? and yeah i probably was low balling a few of those numbers

V8 swap isn't THAT involved. You can get all the parts you need off a wrecked GT. It's just usually a waste of time/money once you are all done if you swap in a stock motor only making 260 at the flywheel. For the money, the sixer can be made faster.

that was directed at fobra saying you could build up your own V8 and stick it in
