single ports aren't fast to begin with, I think they are like 17 second cars stock which if I'm right is around what a civic from the same year would run(ish). People just think because its a "mustang" its automatically fast. They make 150 crank hp I believe so if yours is an auto like 120-130 actual rwhp.

Yeah I know that its only a 6 and its not suppose to be fast but its SLOW. It runs like a 4. I was just wondering why it might be slow. My dad and other people drove it and said there is definitely a problem with something.

Look up other 17 second cars, it is as slow as a 4 cylinder stock. Just to give you an idea, your car is a low 17 second car, 17.3 from what I just loooked up. Here are some common 4 cylinder cars that would beat your car just to give you an idea....
1994 Integra - 16.0
1998 Cavalier Z24 - 16.8
2001 Neon es - 16.9
1993 Civic ex coupe - 16.3
1995 Mazda Protege es - 16.6
I'm not doing this to be a dick just showing you thats how fast your car is, it could be running fine. I just looked up the times quickly on albeedigital so don't quote me on them.

Yea, I highly doubt your car has a problem. They are just flat out slow (especially the single port Round Bodies). My little Dodge Dakota has 120hp and could give my 01 a run for its money.

As said before the 94-98 single port v6 is SLOW. 5spd may get down the 1/4 mile in 16.5 to 17 record breaking seconds and the slushbox auto is more like 17.3 to 17.8...fast i know i use to own one and the best time i got in the 1/8th was a 10.88.

Had a 98 sixer and believe me it's perfectly normal, they're slow stock, nothing is wrong with your car other than it's stock engine design.

early new edge cars are better for just cruising purpouses, even the GTs of the time were slow.
