Default 3.8 Liter Cold Air Intake concern

I recently installed a cold air intake kit from American Muscle for my 2003 stang and have noticed some interesting sounds during hard acceleration, or during crusing speeds on the interstate. It seems that when I try to accelerate above normal I get a air vibrating or rattling noise that comes from what sounds like the glove compartment area (my guess around the throttle body.) Not sure if it is an air/fuel mixture problem or what for that matter. The vehicle idles and revs fine parked, but it gets issues while moving. I'm new to this forum and would appreciate some feedback.

Thanks!

-Todd

No that's not really the sound that it is making. The best example I can give without a video or anything is the sound an older beretta with a bad exhaust makes, except it comes from the glove compartment...not sure if that means I'm not getting enough air in, or too much or what.

you may have something rattling on your intake check it for scratches if you find any then put some double sided tape on the car where it rubs or maybe you didnt connect something just right and you have a little air leak

That's what I was thinking... on mine its kind of close between the strut tower and the intake... very close...

yeah i had that same issue when i installed my cold air intake and throttle body spacer (that i know does nothing). My rattling was coming from a combination of both the strut tower brace and the wheel well. After a couple of hours and some rubber. I anchored it down and it doesnt move at all now. but yeah it was annoying as hell. Just strap it down. I ended up unbolting my tower brace on the passenger side and putting the strap (rubber) underneath it and then tightening the crap out of it.

I will look at tightening it down...the thing I'm more concerned with is that it is hurting my acceleration badly especially uphill or on the interstate...I'm going to take it off completely and reapply it this weekend..hopefully it'ssomething as flooky as that..Thanks for the responses though!
