Default Changed DPFE, Now bad gas mileage.

I was averaging 275-290 miles per tank. Now I'm getting about 200 miles per tank. The only thing I've changed recently is the DPFE sensor because I used to have a P0401 code. Could the sensor effect my gas mileage?
