for the dual or single voice coil subs it's more a matter of flexibility depending on the impedance (ohms) of the voice coils, wiring them with a single sub in independent, parallel, or series will change the impedance corresponding to the original resistance . parallel wiring(connect a positives together) cuts resistance in half and series wiring (connect with one wire + to - to + to - )doubles you resistance. thats the quick version of it before going and tinkering with it more ask more specific questions and i can better explain to you situation.

for that sub its rated at 400RMS watts that the power the amp should be feeding it constantly, and the 4 ohm is the measure of its resistance, so you want a amp that pumps 400RMS watts at 4 ohms. and don't skimp on the amp get a kick, infinity, rockford... get something good you can tell the difference trust me

and sony explodes.... literaly

thats a truck box that the sub you linked in, you should be able to find a single 12 box thats.. not a truck box lol. im pretty sure you can stuff a box less than 14-13 inches tall in the trunk of our stangs. i forgot what mine is but i push it back until it hits the stock amp rack and leave it at that.

allright well i think iv got everything picked out. im getting the kicker 300 amp off here, im going with the rockford fostgate punch 400w from bestbuy with the encolser it is in because i dont like any of the other enclosers they have and i think this one should be able to fit between the rear seat and the amps standing up there is a little area where is may be jussst tall enough. if not im just going to lay it down. $299 sub + $75 amp + $120 install = over budget but oh well im rly looking forward to it
