Default seafoam

just a quick question, so about this seafoam stuff i was reading the lable and it said you could use it in your gas or in your oil. just wondering about this, im a lil bit hesitan about putting anything in my oil and runnig it for more than 5 minutes. i usually use the 5 minute motor flush in my old cars when i changed my oil. i was reading some past treads and see that some of you guys run seafoam for a couple hundred miles and also that you HAVE to change out plugs when you do seafom it. so you CAN put this stuff in your oil no problem and also has anyone done it in the fuel and if so would you have to change out the fuel filter after you do? anyways thanks for any info guys

yeah about 300-500 miles before your oil change add 1/3 to the oil 1/3 to full tank of gas and the last 1/3 into the vacuum line and once the cars engine cuts out from the seafoam in the vac line let it sit for 5-30 min and then start it again. it'll be hard to start but when it does all the crap in the engine will go byby

I thought it was 50 miles before the oil change and drive it like you stole it, 500 miles seems like to long.

yea NO MORE THAN 100 MILES. 50 miles is probably best.

here ill do a write up on it cuz i have nothing better to do

HOW TO SEAFOAM

step 1- take three water bottles and cut the tops off of them. add equal amounts of seafoam to each bottle so that its in 3rds

step 2- dump one water bottle into a full or close to full gas tank

step 3- dump one water bottle into the oil.

step 4- remove the vacuum line ( located on the driver side of the vehicle, black hose about a nickle size in diameter.)

step 5- place your finger over the vaccumme line and have someone start the car and IMMEDIATLY bring the rmps up to a steadt 2500 rpm's. once they say that the car is up to speed. **** SLOWLY**** induce the last water bottle into the vacuum line. (do it like the vacuum hose is a straw and stick it into the water bottle to suck it up)
DO NOT LET THE ENGINE STALL.

step 6- as the last drop of seafoam is sucked up yell at the person to shut the car off.

step 7- after waiting 7 min. start the car back up. it will smoke ALOT so do it in a well ventilated area. give the car a lil time to come to a normal idle speed.

step 8- take the car for a high revving run. so if in a manual go one gear under what u usually are at or in an auto take the o/d off or leave it in second gear depending on the road. try and runn the car at around 2500-3000 rpm. run until the smoke stops.

now for the follow up. i have changed the oil anywhere from right when i got back from driving it on the high rpm drive - 50 miles later. drop the oil and chage it like usual. i seafoam everyother oil chage cuz i run 5,000 miles between oil changes.

if you havent chaged the fuel filter in a while it is a good idea to do it anyway especially if this is the first time using seafoam. although i have seafoamed without changing the fuel filter with no problems.

iv never herd of having to change the plugs after seafoam but again if you havent done it in awhile some new motorcraft plugs would be a good idea.

ALL AND ALL IN THE END. a good seafoam and some new oil will make ur car run great.

My car smoked a bit but not too much. It means you did it right and have a clean engine, or didn't do it right... haha

yea i have never seafoamed an engine that dosent smoke like a bitch. pontiac-ford they always smoke for me. could be the way you induce it into the vacuum line. the slower u go the less it will smoke when u restart it

so is the seafoam heavier than gasoline? just wondering how it works through the tank. or do you have to be kinda low on gas when you do it?
