Default Nubie to the mustang

Hey guys! I just signed up for this forum, two days ago
I bought my friend's black 2000 3.8 5 spd. And i absolutely
LOVE this car. it has two issues that I know of, I took the
spark plugs out and they all looked good except for the two
closest to the driver/passenger. they oil on them...i cleaned them
and put them back in> anyone know what this means?

Issue #2
it seems to be a little rough when shifting gears, the friend that
i bought it from said he thinks its the tranny synchros, and not the
clutch because he replaced the clutch last year with a 'heavyduty'
clutch. opinions? Sorry for the long thread guys but i'll appreciate any
help you guys can offer. i'd like to clear these issues up and then start
doing small 'bolton' mods to increase performance.

P.S.,,,ive been reading up on the forum today and some of you guys
say its just as good to take the 'silencer' out of the intake and put a
k&n filter in as opposed to getting a lowprice cai. what does the silencer
look like and is it easy to remove?

the silencer is going to be the black tube that runs into the fender well, just remove that and get a good filter. Get a compression test done to the car.

Thanx stangant, is it possible for me to do my own compression test or is that something I would have to have a shop do

go to your local parts store like advance discount auto. All you do is unscrew your spark plug on the cylinder that you want to check, and you screw in the compression gauge.
