How to remove wiper switch on 65?
Hi Everyone,
The previous owner told me that the wiper motor does not work but the wiring harness is not connected to the switch. I can't see to plug it in along with my big hands. So I was going to remove the switch and test from there. How do you remove the switches from the dash?
Thanks
Warren

Thanks for your help! I got the **** off and then tried using needle nose plyers and it just spun. Nothing ever came off. Its like the whole switch just spun in the back as well.

When I took mine off I removed the **** then used a decent sized flat head screw driver to remove the nut.
However, I was lucky and did not have the gauge cluster in at the time (whole dash was stripped) so I just reached through where my gauges should have been and grabbed it. Only other option is to reach up from the underside.

That works for the headlights because the shaft comes out with the ****. You can't do that with the wiper switch as the shaft is part of the switch and protrudes through the retainer.
Reach up from the back and hold the switch. The threaded section is part of the switch body and can not turn if you hold it.
